RAW POWER OR REGULAR JPEG?

-

What are the benefits of shooting Raw files, as opposed to regular JPEG images, when it comes to DSLRs?

For those who both like to preserve the integrity of the image and have the option to tweak their imagery later, it’s generally advised to shoot unadulterated ‘Raw’ files, by which we mean the camera doesn’t apply its own internal image processing to its output, as it does with standard JPEG files. However, for viewing images on devices other than the camera itself, JPEG tends to be much more convenient and accessible, plus, it has to be said, 99% of the time the file format is perfectly good for purpose. Most DSLRs also allow the shooting of Raw and JPEG files in tandem.
