Dual -camera phones
Expa nd your photograp hy horizons with these snapp y handsets
Honor 8 Pro
You’ll need a steady hand – there’s no image stabilisation on board here – but the Honor 8’s combo of f/2.2 lenses fronting one colour sensor and one monochrome sensor (just like Huawei’s P10) offers up some of the most contrast-rich photos we’ve seen from a phone. Its solo black and white snaps aren’t bad, either. £480, huawei.com
Xiaomi Mi6
Combining cleverly computed 10x digital zoom with a 12MP wide-angle lens and a 12MP telephoto lens, the Mi 6 opens up some interesting options for mixing the two. You can, for example, pick out a subject and tastefully blur the background for a DSLR-esque look right from your pocket. £382, mi.com
Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom
Two 12MP sensors with laser autofocus – perhaps not the most thrilling set of specs ever. But a 2.3x optical zoom makes a big difference, and you can record 4K video at 30FPS for extra thrills. The Zenfone 3 is US-only for now, but expect to see it on UK shores (possibly with a different name) soon.
