The tech world's most prestigious awards are back and bigger than ever. This year, we're making some improvements, to better reflect the way technology is changing.

It used to be that gadgets were their own thing – a particular part of our lives. But now that everyone has their smartphone, smartwatch or tablet with them all the time, tech has become an everyday pillar of the average person's lifestyle. And that's provided the conditions for areas such as smart home products and wireless audio to really take off. Everything is connected – and so is the new-look T3 Awards.

We've expanded the number of categories to reflect this shift in what tech means to people. We're still celebrating the big flagship phones, computers, TVs, and everything else we've always loved, but now there's more recognition for the other fantastic gadgets we live with day in and day out.

These are the categories in which we'll be crowning the winners on 20th September.
