Fossil Q Explorist
Wow, Fossil is pumping out watches 24/7!
The company is rather prolific, yes, and this autunm it’ll be releasing a new range of smartwatches, including two of the touchscreen variety, the Q Explorist and the Q Venture. We’re personally rather taken with the Q Explorist…
Oh yeah? Why’s that, then?
It’s the bigger of the two. And while we know size isn’t everything, we’re digging the Q Explorist’s handsome 44mm stainless steel case. It’s also compatible with a range of interchangeable 22mm straps and bracelets, if you care about keeping your look fresh. Heads up: the Q Venture only comes in rose gold and gold with embedded gemstones.
I don’t do gemstones.
We know, which is why we’re all about the Q Explorist. This rugged-looking smartwatch features a digital crown on the right-hand side, designed for quick navigation through the user interface, and two programmable buttons on the right-hand side for further fiddling of your choosing.
That screen looks rather nice...
Aye. The Q Explorist’s bright, always-on round touchscreen display throws up messages, smartphone notifications, date and time, and activity data (steps taken); choose from different watch faces to influence what data and info is displayed. In terms of internal spec, there’s a Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor and 4GB of memory. Aside from the usual culprits such as an alarm clock, microphone and speaker, the watch also has an LED Flashlight function.
It’s quite stylish, really. When’s it out?
The Fossil Q Explorist will be released this September.
