There are chem­i­cals, like Feli­way’s Felis­cratch, which you can squirt onto a scratch­ing post to pro­mote its use, or you could try an audi­ble alarm; the Tat­tle Tale vi­bra­tion sen­sor is around £20. Whether these work is down to the de­ter­mi­na­tion of your par­tic­u­lar fe­line. Prob­a­bly best just to cut your losses and sur­ren­der, to be hon­est.
