There’s ac­tu­ally no real bound­ary where outer space be­gins, but it’s gen­er­ally ac­cepted that any­thing above the Kár­mán line – 100km up where aero­nau­ti­cal flight is im­pos­si­ble – is where ‘space’ be­gins. So tech­ni­cally we only sent a copy of T3 up into the strato­sphere, or ‘near space’. But we’re count­ing it any­way, be­cause… look!
