NUBIA RED MAGIC 5G

-

£539, redmagic.gg

The line between mid-range and high-end phones has blurred more than ever in recent years, but Chinese manufacturer Nubia isn’t about to stop at providing flagship power at a reasonable price. The fourth phone in the Red Magic line sets gamers firmly in its sights, with RGB lighting on the back, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 and an Adreno 650 GPU making for a beefy processing package, a pair of screen-mappable shoulder buttons and (of course) 5G connectivity. Oh, and the world’s first 144Hz screen in a smartphone. And while there aren’t (yet) a huge number of games that can make the most of its high refresh rate, it can also automatically switch to 90Hz or 60Hz to suit whatever you’re doing.

T3 SAYS: A phone with plenty of price competition, but with a screen that’s unique. At least until Lenovo drops something soon...
