Can tech help me with nondigital art?

AJANE ARNOLD, WEST LOTHIAN

There are loads of tutorials and such online, but GaGu is sure that you’ve considered those as part of your infuriatingly broad question. So consider this: the Swordfish 40233 MultiPoint electric pencil sharpener. It retails for £87, but you’ll probably be able to find it for a much more reasonable £40.

Turn the wheel to select your *ahem* shaft diameter, jam in that pencil, and its helical blade will get even a brand new squared-off pencil pin-sharp in four seconds. It even stops automatically to ensure you don’t inadvertently grind those good colours (or watercolours, or pastels, or charcoals) down to a nub.

To the untrained ear, the effect is likely to be quite subtle. But if sound is a treasure for you, a good DAC polishes it up
