TAKING THE TEMPERATURE
Cook food to perfection with the new Meater 2 Plus thermometer
Ever wanted to cook the perfect roast chicken? Or maybe you panic about under or overcooking and you have a nice cut of beef to prepare? Then you need to check out the new Meater 2 Plus (£119, meater.com).
Leading cooking thermometer brand Meater recently added to its growing collection of meat thermometers with the Meater 2 Plus. Building off the success and popularity of the original Meater, the Meater 2 Plus has been given a whole host of smart feature upgrades, and a whole new app design that makes cooking meat easier and stress-free.
The Meater 2 Plus is the ultimate tool for all methods of cooking, including roasting, grilling, smoking and even air frying. One of its best upgrades is its first-of-its-kind ability to cope with direct open-flame high-heat grilling. Setting itself apart from its competitors, the Meater 2 Plus can be used over direct heat on barbecues and grills, and reach an ambient temperature of 500°C with a maximum internal temperature of 105°C.
Many users found the first Meater meat thermometer to be a little bulky and hard to spear through meat for accurate readings. With this in mind, the Meater 2 Plus has been given a redesign and is 30% slimmer and stronger than the original. Made from stainless steel, the full metal probe has an ambient sensor, which detects the right temperature at all times. For even more precision, the Meater 2 Plus also has five internal sensors called Smart Temp Multisensors, which detect real-time temperature for the best cooking results every time.
Like most devices and appliances these days, the Meater 2 Plus has its own app. The brand upgraded the new contraption with better wireless connectivity, an extended wireless range and a built-in range booster, so you can tuck it away in the oven, and you’ll still be able to receive its progress. The Meater app gives you real-time information on the Meater 2 Plus, including internal, ambient and desired temperatures of the meat you’re cooking. It also has a Meater Master Class feature, which gives recipe inspiration and advice.
For chef-worthy meals, the Meater 2 Plus is a must-have device – you’ll never have to worry about under or overcooked steak again!
