Funeral service for the late Malcolm Ira Black, 86, North River, formerly of Antigonish, was held August 18 in J. A. Snow Funeral Home, Halifax. Burial will be held at a later date.

Mr. Black died August 8, 2018, in the Abbie J. Lane Hospital,halifax.

Born March 8, 1932, in Roslin, NS, he was a son of the late Ira and Ruth Black. His passion was his work, keeping the road building equipment going for Nova Constructi­on. In his spare time he enjoyed his piece of beach at Tracadie, boating and hosting big family reunions with fireworks for all the nieces, nephews and neighbours on the July 1, Canada Day weekend. He would also drive around the countrysid­e, checking the progress of any road constructi­on in the area. He also enjoyed road trips in his RV with family and Tim Horton’s runs.

He is survived by daughter, Kathy (Ben); son, Glenn (Sharon); two grandchild­ren, Josh, Lann; sister, Francis (Fred); three brothers, Winston (Sharon), Lloyd (Sharon), Ronald (Ann).

He was predecease­d by his wife, Verneatia; two brothers, Donnie (Betty), Carman (Bonnie); two sisters, Blanche (William), Irene (Joe).

Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of choice.
