Funeral ser­vice for the late Janet Agnes Macdougall, 90, was held Au­gust 24 in St. Ninian Cathe­dral, Antigo­nish, with Fa­ther Don­ald Macgillivray of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial was in St. Ninian Ceme­tery.

Miss Macdougall died Au­gust 20, 2018, in High-crest Nurs­ing Home in Sher­brooke.

Read­ers at the funeral Mass were Miles Tomp­kins, Mon­ica Mac­don­ald and Florence Mil­ley. Ann Macdougall, Nel­son, Iris and Mae Leuschner pre­sented the of­fer­tory gifts. Mu­sic was pro­vided by Mar­garet Mac­don­ald.

Urn bearer was Isabel Mac­don­ald. Born March 28, 1928, in Spring­field, Antigo­nish County, she was the daugh­ter of the late Al­lan and Alice (Floyd) Macdougall. As a young woman, she grad­u­ated from St. Martha’s Hos­pi­tal School of Nurs­ing and pur­sued her pro­fes­sion pri­mar­ily in the United States, re­tir­ing back to Antigo­nish at the end of her ca­reer. She en­joyed mu­sic and trav­el­ling and had a great sense of hu­mor. She was the last sur­viv­ing mem­ber of her im­me­di­ate fam­ily.

She is sur­vived by two sis­tersin-law, Mary (Joe) Macdougall, Jackie (John) Macdougall; nu­mer­ous nieces, neph­ews, grand­nieces and grand­nephews, in both Canada and the United States.

She was pre­de­ceased by seven sis­ters, Cather­ine, Frances, Mary, El­iz­a­beth, Mar­garet, Claire, Anna; three brothers, John, Jim, Joe.
