Age 90, Truro, formerly of Salt Springs, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2020 in Wynn Park Villa, Truro. Born in Salt Springs, she was a daughter of the late William and Margaret Macleod. In her early years, she worked with Simpsons and Eatons in Halifax and then later in Moncton. She enjoyed being a mother and grandmothe­r and loved to go to flea markets with her husband, Robert. Going out to dine was a real delight for her. Janet had a green thumb especially with growing African violets. She was deeply loved and will be sadly missed by her family. She is survived by her daughter, Janice ( Jeff) Collins, Burlington, Ont.; son, Robert "Bruce" (Debbie), Central Onslow; grandchild­ren, Andrew Collins and Brittany (Josh Zapton) Collins; great-granddaugh­ter, Madison Zapton; brother, John (Beth) Macleod; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband, Robert; sisters, Marion, Irene, Eva; and brothers, Ivan and Vernon. Donations in Janet’s memory may be made to St. Luke’s United Church, Salt Springs, or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 12th from 1-2 p.m. followed by a Celebratio­n of Life, both in Colchester Community Funeral Home, 512 Willow St., Truro with Rev. Carolyn Wilson Wynne officiatin­g.
