COLDWELL, Laurence John

Age 79, of New Minas, passed away in Valley Regional Hospital on July 3, 2020. Born in Wolfville, he was a son of the late Allison and Alice (Vaughan) Coldwell. Laurence retired from Weavexx after 30 years of service. He was a life- long and faithful member of New Minas Baptist Church. He enjoyed making wooden crosses and sharing them with many people. He loved spending time with his friends and family, especially at his cottage in Sunken Lake. Laurence is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathleen ( Bishop) Coldwell, New Minas; children, Karen (Corey) Knowles, Sackville; Jody (Wanda) Coldwell, Calgary, Alta.; and Troy (Sandy) Coldwell, Gaspereau; sisters, Linda Hancock, New Minas; and Marilyn Ells, Lakeville; grandchild­ren, Brittany (Tom), Adam (Kate) and Luke (Emily), Halona and Joaquin, Cassandra and Victoria, Leah, Jana and Alstin; six great-grandchild­ren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predecease­d by brothers, Wayne and Blair. Cremation has taken place. Due to COVID-19 pandemic restrictio­ns there will be no visitation and a private funeral service was held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, July 8th, in White Family Funeral Home, Kentville. Donations in memory may be made to the New Minas Baptist Church or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
