Age 94, of Chester. It is with heavy hearts that the family announce that he passed away peacefully on July 5, 2020. Jack was a loving husband to his late wife, Audrey Mosher (Levy) and son to the late Harding and Blanche Mosher. Born and raised in Chester he started working at an early age having left school to help provide for his family. His first jobs were in the saw mill industry. Most of his career was with Piercey’s Building Supplies, Halifax. In later years he worked in constructi­on, building the Shoreham Complex and the Chester District School where he worked as a Custodian until his retirement. He was never one to stay idle so he found a new passion that would embrace his special gift of serving others by volunteeri­ng at Shoreham Village for over 20 years. He spent countless hours there not only volunteeri­ng but listening to music, attending functions and enjoying the friendship­s he developed. As a cancer survivor, Jack took part in the Chester Relay for Life for many years. He loved life and was always smiling while making others smile. He found so much joy in friendship­s with many. He was passionate about his family and very proud of his children. He found joy in spending time with his family, whether it be a drive in the community or to grab a coffee or ice-cream. He loved to attend church and sing along with the hymns. Jack will be missed greatly by the many lives he touched and will forever be remembered for his contagious smile. Jack leaves behind his children, John (Gina), Irene Rafuse, Danny ( Susan), Mary ( Joe), Jennifer Rafuse (Jimmy), Catherine (Kevin) and Sherry Hazel (Robert); along with 11 grandchild­ren, several great-grandchild­ren, nieces and nephews. He is survived by brother, Lealon "Jiggy" and sister, Joyce Cleveland; brother-inlaw, Joseph Levy and sister-inlaw, Pauline Levy. He was predecease­d by siblings, Rhema, Myrtle, Edith, Mary, Pearl, Margorie, Donald, Morris and Roy. The family would like to offer a very special thank you to LCHS and Dr. Dobek for Jack’s care over the past few years. There will be a family graveside service on July 10th in Bayview Cemetery, Chester; Pastor Joe Green officiatin­g.
