Age 65, of Lawrencetown. It is with great sadness that we, the family, announce the passing of Joseph Francis "Frank" Stubbert of Lawrencetown, on July 7, 2020 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Catherine "Kay" (Mackinnon) and the late Ambrose Stubbert. Frank was raised in Dartmouth. At the age of 17, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces. He married his first wife, June (deceased), at the age of 18. The two were married for 30 years and raised two daughters. Frank proudly served his country for 32 years. He was a respected member of the Military Police with postings in Germany and Egypt, and deployments to Cyprus, Croatia, Rwanda, Bosnia, and New York City, N.Y. Shortly after retirement, he was blessed to meet his wife Janet. The two wed, blending the families and giving him the biggest branch on the family tree; six children and 11 grandchildren. The two enjoyed retirement and lived life to the fullest. Their vows held true, in sickness and health. A jack of all trades, he started his handyman business after retirement. He was so proud of his home, he enjoyed puttering in the garage, maintaining the yard, having beer call with the boys, and of course the visits from his kids and grandkids. He cherished his family, they were his greatest reward. His love for his mother was unconditional, as it should be for mother and son.
