JORDAN, Dennis Charles Murray

-

It is with profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Dennis Charles Murray Jordan, our loving and devoted father, brother, uncle and friend, on June 29, 2020 at the age of 69. Dennis was born September 13, 1950 in Dartmouth, a son of the late Victor and Ferne Jordan. He was hardworking and resourceful, paving his own way through life. Dennis spent 26 years as an account manager for Halifax Stationary/ Mahons before venturing into self employment where he built a successful property maintenance company. For the last six years Dennis was truly living his best life, finally fulfilling his dream of running a golf course. This course, Gardiner Greens (formerly Lionel’s) in Cape Breton, was his passion and joy and if you find yourself out that way please play a round of golf for him. When he wasn’t running Gardiner Greens he was spending his winter months on a golf course in Florida, amassing a community of friends who he loved and became his American family. Dennis had a love of music, teaching himself to play the guitar at a young age and as a teen playing in a band called The Rising Sons. He carried on his love of music, creating many memories, playing his guitar and singing songs to his children (who, in his words, couldn’t carry a tune). Dennis was known for his kind heart, quick wit, giving nature, lack of patience, love of pepper and hate of onions. He was full of spit and vinegar but could charm the pants off anyone. If you asked Dennis his greatest accomplishment, it wasn’t his golf handicap or his hole in ones, it was being a father. His passion for golf was only surpassed by his fierce love for his family and friends. Dennis loved unconditionally and was always there to lend a hand. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Survived by the lights of his life, his children: Murika (Gregory) Oliver, Amanda (Stu) Feltham, Matthew (Becky) Jordan, Marc (Christine) Jordan and Victoria Jordan; cherished grandchildren: Graesen, Ava, Peyton, Noah, Nicole, Ezra and Connor; beloved siblings: Thom (Kim) Jordan, Marlene Jordan Lecky and Scott ( Michelle) Jordan; adored nieces and nephews: Marcy, Jesse, Jason, Robyn, Nicholas and Dalton and many cousins, uncles, great-nieces and great-nephews. Dennis was predeceased by his parents; brotherin- law, William Lecky; best friend (and cousin), William "Bill" Fleming and nephew, Kristopher Jordan. As requested there will be no funeral. A Celebration of Life will follow at a later date. Online condolences: tkbarnardfuneralhome. ca In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kidssport Nova Scotia (kidsportcanada.ca/novascotia/).
