SAULNIER, Dorothy Eleanor

-

August 27, 1934 - November 21, 2020. It is with great sadness the family of loving mother, grandmother, and sister, Dorothy Eleanor Saulnier, of Hantsport, announces her passing in Hants Community Hospital on November 21st at the age of 86, with family by her side and in their hearts. Born in Berwick, Dorothy was a daughter of the late Ira and Dora Parrish. Dorothy worked in her early years, but held the role of loving wife and mother for most of her life. She was an active member of Hantsport Baptist Church for over 40 years; she held the position of president of King’s Daughters from 1982 to fall of 2020, and financial secretary for 34 years; she was a choir member, and on numerous committees. In October 2020, she was honoured as "Life Deacon" in appreciation of a life of service by her church. She enjoyed cooking (her holiday turkey dinners were like no other), working in her yard, helping her church community, word-search puzzles, chatting with neighbors/ friends and being surrounded by family. Dorothy leaves behind a family who will miss her greatly: son, Mark (Kim), Hants Border; daughter, Karen, Hants Border; grandchildren, Matthew, Tyler ( Jessica), Adam (Zipora), Kristi and Ryan; great-granddaughter, Oakley; sister, Joyce Levy; sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews, and many special friends. She was predeceased by husband, Joseph "Joe" and brother, Harold Parrish. A very special thank you to Dr. Cathryn Smith and nurses of the palliative care unit at Hants Community Hospital. As well, a very special thank you to her neighbors in the Evangeline Drive neighborhood; your thoughtfulness toward mom and dad over the past years will always be remembered. If ever there was an angel among us, it was Mom/nanny. She is with Dad now, her loving husband of 56 years, who has been waiting for her. A memorial service is planned for both Mom and Dad, June 29, 2021, their wedding anniversary. Donations in Dorothy’s memory may be made to Hantsport Baptist Church or charity of your choice.
