Age 87 of Halifax. It is with sadness that the family of Susan Redmond, announces her passing which occurred on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 in Hospice Halifax with her family by her side. Born on September 10, 1933 in Crescent North, N.L., to the late Reginald and Jessie (Broydell) Mayo. Susan enjoyed knitting and playing Bingo. She was a great cook, baker and loved watching cooking shows. She never missed the 5 o’clock news or weekend yard sales. Above all, Susan enjoyed the time she spent with her family, who will miss her dearly. Susan will be lovingly remembered by her children, Fay ( Heber) Brown, Joyce ( Roy Bonin) Richardson, Pollyanna ( Jake) Turple, Frank ( Kim Mielke) Redmond and Heidi (Michael Maclean) Redmond; her grandchild­ren, Paul Brown, Anita Drodge and Jody Brown, Hazel Redmond, John Webb, Kelly Mitton, Fay Shaw, Beth Smith, Matthew Turple, Shari-lyn Van Ooston, Joseph Redmond, Justin Redmond; 28 great-grandchild­ren; one great great-grandchild; her siblings, Bell Power, Mae Paynter, Lemmy (Mary) Mayo and Clayten (Elsie) Mayo; sisterin-law, Louise Mayo; along with many nieces, nephews and members of her extended family. Besides her parents, Susan was predecease­d by her brothers, John and Max (Melvina) Mayo; and her brothers-in-law, Austin Power and Albert Paynter. Arrangemen­ts have been entrusted to J. Albertwalk­er Funeral Home (2005) Ltd, 149 Herring Cove Rd., Halifax, where visitation and a Celebratio­n of Life will take place at a later date due to the new COVID-19 restrictio­ns on social gatherings.
