BOUDREAU, Vernon Joseph

-

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Vernon Joseph Boudreau "Budda", 77 of Arichat, on December 3, 2020. Vernon was a kind, jovial, generous man, loving husband, father and grandfather. He was liked and loved by many and wherever he went he knew someone, or someone knew him. He was a proud member of the IBEW Local 1852, Sydney and worked as a construction electrician traveling all over Nova Scotia and other parts of Canada throughout his career. He was an avid reader, a lover of music, a handyman and fixer of most things. He had a creative touch and completed many artistic projects around the house. Vernon enjoyed traveling, exploring and experiencing new things. While he loved to socialize and enjoyed a good party, he also sought solitude in the woods and on the water where you would find him searching for the perfect hunting spot or Christmas tree, fishing in a lake or on the sea or simply out for a sail. Vernon’s love and passion for baseball took him back to his early years up until his last days. He was a true lover of the game; he would find any way to get to a ballgame, often hitchhiking across the Island for practices and games. Vernon was invited to the St. Louis Cardinals training camp in his youth. He was a proud member of the P.D.G. Red Caps, Royal Canadian Legion Branch 150, Arichat. He was also a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and the biggest fan of his grandson, Brett who he watched play ball every chance he had. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the people who have been there for our family; bringing food, taking care of the yard, words of support, visits, and especially those who cared directly for Vernon these last few months. Your kindness, comfort and support will be remembered forever. You are true gifts to the world.
