Died at home on December 3, 2020 with her husband by her side after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born May 4, 1948 in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late John and Myrtle Gosling. Heather is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert "Rob" Lemoine; sons, Sean (Chantelle Styles) and Mark (Alison Fraser); sisters, June Carroll ( Ken), Joyce Mccann, Shirley Mcilmoyl (Wally) and Linda Vaughan; brother, John Gosling (Sandra); brotherin-law, Paul Lemoine (Punch); sister-in-law, Vicki Daley (Blake); brother-in-law, Ron Cunningham; and many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and a great great-nephew. Heather was predecease­d by sisters, Mary Cunningham and Betty Stewart; brothers-in-law, Don Stewart, Harry Vaughan and Max Mccann; nephew, Alex Stewart; great-nephew, Jeffrey Stewart. Heather’s greatest strength was developing deep friendship­s wherever she went. She was an accomplish­ed tole painter. She had a passion for rug hooking, donating many rugs for charity and winning several awards. There were lots of laughs around the bridge tablewhile Sudoku and puzzles filled any down time she might have had. Many people were the benefit of her cooking skills and her favorite place was the cottage at Amherst Shore where countless memories were made and stories shared. Giving back to the community was important to Heather and an integral part of her life. Organizati­ons or causes she volunteere­d for include the Amherst Shore Kool Aid Kids (in support of Camp Tidnish), First Bedford Cubs and Scouts Group Committee, Bedford United Church Women, Cumberland Health Care Auxiliary andtrinity­St. Stephen’s United Church Benevolent Fund. She was mostproud of becoming a Rotary Internatio­nal Paul Harris Fellow, which recognized her community involvemen­t. Throughout the years, many businesses and organizati­ons benefitted from her accounting skills both as a volunteer and an employee. A Celebratio­n of Heather’s Life will be held at a later date when family and friends can be together. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Gord Downie Fundfor Brain Cancer Research, Cumberland Health Care Foundation, Cumberland County Hospice Palliative Care Society or a charity ofyour choice.
