Age 91 of Halifax, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2020 with her daughter by her side. Neatha was born in Robinsons, N.L., and was the last surviving member of her immediate family of 10 children. Neatha devoted her life to raising her children. She was a loving wife, mother, nanny, great-nanny, sister, and aunt. She was an amazing cook, known for her homemade bread, pies, hot milk cake and her Saturday special, baked beans with macaroni and cheese casserole. Bill and Neatha were great hosts having many family gatherings at the camp in East River. Neatha made feeding 20 people look like a breeze. She was a talented quilter and made beautiful quilts for family and friends. Neatha will be remembered for her deep love of the Lord. She enjoyed singing hymns and was a member of the Parkstone Voices choir. Neatha will be sadly missed by her daughter, Heather (Bruce) Henneberry, East Pennant; son, Paul (Lynn), Timberlea; grandchild­ren; Trina (Joseph), Halifax; Brent (Celeste), Williamswo­od; Kristina (Michael), Lower Sackville; Courtney (Zachary), Lower Sackville; greatgrand­daughters, Olivia, Clara, Emma; and many nieces and nephews. Neatha has gone to meet her Lord and reunite with her family, waiting for her are her parents, Isaac and Leona Legge; her beloved husband of 49 years, Charles William Thomas "Bill"; sisters, Mildred Hayden, Viola Tillman, Olive Hendrican; and brothers, Wesley, Godden, Vernon, Austin, Garland, and Robert. A huge thank you to the nurses and staff at Parkstone Enhanced Care for taking such good care of our mom. Due to COVID-19 restrictio­ns there will be no service. A private family interment will take place in St. Andrew’s Anglican Church Cemetery in Timberlea. Donations can be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.
