Alleged peeping Tom faces new charges
A Dartmouth man will have a bail hearing Monday on more than two dozen charges of voyeurism.
Halifax Regional Police received a report Thursday from a homeowner on Inverary Drive in Dartmouth that a man had been standing outside a window at the back of the house Wednesday night and looking into a bedroom.
Investigators arrested Kyle Gordon Wright, 27, who also lives on Inverary Drive, at about 12:40 p.m. Thursday.
Wright was arraigned in Dartmouth provincial court by video Friday on one count each of voyeurism and trespassing at night and three counts of breaching release conditions.
The Crown opposed Wright’s release and also revoked his bail on 25 earlier charges of voyeurism and one of trespassing at night.
Wright was first arrested last March on three counts of voyeurism and one of trespassing at night. Those offences involved three different women and were allegedly committed between April 2019 and March 9 of this year.
Upon further investigation, including forensic analysis of electronic devices, police laid 22 more charges of voyeurism in September, from incidents going back as far as April 2016. Wright was accused of peeping on four women altogether.
The latest charges involve one of the earlier complainants.
Wright’s release conditions were last varied in November and required him to observe an 8 p.m.-6 a.m. curfew, have no contact with the alleged victims and stay away from their homes.
