BLAIKIE (Dickie), Jean Frances

-

Age 91, Wallace. While thankful for such a long and healthy life, it remains with great sadness the family of Jean Frances Blaikie (Dickie) announce her sudden passing, early in the morning of December 12, 2020, after a brief and unexpected illness. That sadness is tempered by the sure and certain knowledge that the moment she left us she was welcomed home by her Lord and Saviour in Heaven, reunited with husband Donald, her son Ralph, her granddaughter Marni and daughter-in-law Heather. What a joyous moment that would have been! Born in Truro, on June 27, 1929, she married our dad, Donald Blaikie in 1946. She was a gem, and will truly be missed beyond measure. Jean is survived by sons, John (Rita), Alden (Helen), Peter; daughter-in-law, Gail (James); grandsons, Jamie (Sandee), Marc (Jill), Chris (Xisra), Erick (Jennifer), Matthew (Rachel), Jeffrey, William, Cameron, Sam; Granddaughters Melissa (Fraser), Emilie (Joel), Floyd Erin (Glen), Katherine, Hannah; great-grandchildren, Michael (Lindsay), Gavin, Braden, Tristen, Hannah (Lucas), Sarah, Elizabeth, Paige, Johnathan, Jack, Alex, Lucas, Danika, Owen, Avery, Olive, Spencer Jean; great great-grandchildren, Astraea, Harper. Jean was predeceased by husband, Donald; son, Ralph; granddaughter, Marni; daughter- inlaw, Heather; and all six of her siblings. Cremation has taken place under the care of Mundle’s Funeral Home, 204 Water St., Pugwash, (902) 243-2506. When the pandemic restrictions allow, the family will gather in St. John’s United Church in Wallace for her funeral service, lay her to rest next to Dad and Heather in St. Andrew’s United Church Cemetery in Fox Harbour, then gather at our cottage on the shore for a celebration of this remarkable life.
