It is with great sadness that her family announces her sudden passing on December 5, 2020 at age 55. She was a daughter of Ian and the late Judy (Carew) Mcdermaid. She is survived by her husband, Blair Comeau of Dartmouth; as well as her sons, Richard and Ian Mackay. She is also survived by her sister, Wendy Mcdermaid Kean (Evan Kean); and her nephew, Joshua Kean. Her aunt is Sheila Carew of Bobcaygeon, Ont. Sally was always a very cheerful person through thick and thin. Her Mom Judy always called her "Sazzy". She was an avid lover of sports including playing basketball early in life. She loved the New England Patriots, but not as much as The Montreal Canadiens! She had learned to play saxophone early in life. Her favorite music to listen to was The Tragically Hip, among others. Her love of movies was very important to her including her favourite actor, Harrison Ford. She was able to travel across Europe, as well as the Middle East Including Israel in the 1980’s which had a major impact in her life. She graduated Compucolle­ge School of Business in early 2001. She was a customer service representa­tive for her father’s company, Mcdermaid Insurance. She loved her dad and the boys dearly as they played a positive role her entire life. She later worked as an assistant school teacher providing support for children with special needs. She was incredibly proud of this role. Her love of knitting and painting later on was well-known among her large group of friends. Her final years were spent in her dream home she found with Blair she lovingly called "Bunny" Blair lovingly called her "Baby". They love and adored each other. She was fortunate to have had Dr. Shalini Veerassamy as her physician. There will be no service nor visitation. Donations may be made to the Epilepsy Associatio­n of Nova Scotia or the Diabetes Canada.
