Mary Adelia (Uhlman) Keddy

-

The family of Mary Adelia (Uhlman) Keddy, 95, is heartbroken to share the news of her passing on Friday, December 11, 2020 in the VG Site, QEII, surrounded by family. Mom was born and raised in Chelsea, Lunenburg Co. She attended Bridgewater Commercial School and subsequently worked at Lunenburg Foundry, stencilling barges for the Second World War until she obtained a clerical job in their office. At age 19, she moved to Halifax and worked for the Income Tax Department on Bedford Row. Dad built the family home on Patricia Street, Halifax, and there they raised our family of five children. She was a member of Chelsea Baptist, West End Baptist and Sheffield Baptist churches. She was an amazing maker of intricately designed paper crafts, crochet, quilling, tatting, sewing, smocking and knitting. She knit countless pairs of mittens for Mitten Tree donations at Christmas time as well as baby caps, teddy bears and finger puppets for the IWK Health Centre (Children’s Hospital). She enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends. Mom is survived by her children, Wayne (Rhonda), Diane (Brian Kelly), Gary (Donna), Bev (Paul Webber), and Shaun (Tammy); 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family. She was predeceased by our father R. Emerson Keddy; her parents, Loring and Hazel (Emeno) Uhlman; brother, Ernest Uhlman; and several extended family. The family wishes to extend our deepest gratitude to her close neighbours, Cathy Young, Ken Mahoney, Luke and Norma Landry, Judy and Bob Powers, Bill Mcintyre, Bev Prosser and many others who called or checked on Mom and helped us keep her in her own home until the end. She thought the world of you all. We would also like to thank the EMS paramedics, QEII E.R. and VG 5B attending physicians and wonderful nurses, CCA’S and nursing students who cared for and made Mom comfortable on the journey from her terrestrial home to her Heavenly home. She cried out, "Abba!," and He answered. Arrangements are under the care of T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, Halifax, with private graveside service and committal at a later date.

Rest in sweet peace dearest Mother; we will always Cherish you.
