June 25, 1946 -December 3, 2020, Mary Christina O’shea (Chris) ( Wood), age 74, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on December 3, 2020, after a long valiant, battle with Alzheimer’s disease. Chris was born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Emma (Poirier) Wood. In the early years, she traveled to Montreal Que., to become a certified R.N., affiliatin­g in O.B.S. at the Royal Victoria Hospital, Montreal, Pediatrics at the Children’s Hospital, Montreal, Psychiatry at Allen Memorial Hospital, Montreal, and a certified R.N. at the Carleton Memorial Hospital in Woodstock N.B. Throughout her career, she worked at the Nova Scotia Hospital ( Psychiatri­c), Parkland Estates (Geriatric Assisted Living), and finished at the Victoria General Hospital (Palliative Care) before retiring in 2013. She was a devoted passionate nurse for many years, as it was her passion taking care of others. She also enjoyed interior decorating, taking a two year interior decorating course and having a part time business. Chris was predecease­d by her sister, Darlene Mcguire ( Wood) in 2015; brother-in-law, Bev Tozer in 2012; and her niece, Sarah Tozer in 2010. Surviving are her husband, Frank; children, Michael (Nadine) O’shea, Dartmouth; Mark (Elizabeth) O’shea, Calgary; Jay Scott, Dartmouth; sisters, Sheila (Mike) Redden, Antigonish; Francis Tozer, Oromocto, N.B.; grandchild­ren, Colton, Caleb, Olivia, Kaedan; and many other family and friends. Cremation has taken place. A celebratio­n of her life will be held at a later date due to COVID restrictio­ns. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia.
