It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lorna Arlene Howe on January 2, 2021. Born on April 30, 1963, Lorna was a daughter of the late Kathleen (James) Johnson and Freeman Colley Jr. and raised by her loving grandparen­ts, the late William and Irene (Thomas) Howe in East Preston. Lorna truly loved her Lord and Saviour who she served faithfully with her involvemen­t in the East Preston United Baptist Church’s youth choir and Sunday school. Lorna was a longtime employee of the Lord Nelson Hotel and Graham Creighton Jr. High School. She is survived by brothers and sister, Rickey (Mady) Howe, Carlo (Alisha) Colley, Cory (Kim) Colley, Shana (Delon) Colley, and Ricardo Smith. She is survived by her Howe family, Beatrice (Raymond) Williams, Ronald Howe, Elroy Howe, Margaret (Donald) Fraser, Janet (Mitchell) Carvery, Cheryl Howe; her many nieces and nephews; and her godson, Oren Williams. She was predecease­d by her brothers and sisters, Allan Howe, Vonita Simmonds, Arnold Howe, two infant sisters, Jason Smith; and paternal grandparen­ts, Freeman Colley Sr. and Elsie (Brooks) Colley. We would like to thank Lorna’s Pastor, Rev. Dr. Lequita Porter for her love, prayers, support, and words of comfort during Lorna’s illness. We are grateful to the staff of the VG Site QEII and QEII Health Sciences Centre for all of their support. Funeral service will be held in East Preston United Baptist Church on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at 11 a.m., Rev. Dr. Joyce Ross officiatin­g. Burial in East Preston Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 restrictio­ns, funeral service will be by invitation only.
