Age 85 years of Whycocomag­h. With broken hearts we announce the passing of our dear mother, Katherine Norena Turbill (MacKeigan) on Sunday, January 3, 2021. Born in her family home in Whycocomag­h on January 1, 1936 she was a daughter of the late John Lewis and Margaret (Robinson) MacKeigan. She is survived by her daughters, Lynanne Kochhar and her children, Priyanka and Ravi; Mary Beth (George) Ferguson and their children, Nicole and Lauren; Nancy Turbill. She is also survived by her siblings, Florence Mackeigan, Ian (Shirley) Mackeigan, and Sheila Mackay; and her brother-in-law, Dougald Mclean, and many nieces and nephews. She was predecease­d by her husband, Kenzie and his siblings, Alice, Dorothy, and Mary; and by her sister, Dorothy Mclean and brother-in-law, Archie Mackay. Thank you to Dr. Egar, Dr. Ritter, Paulette and Lori Ann and all the continuing care nurses who took such good care of Mom. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation due to COVID-19 restrictio­ns. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m., Thursday, January 7th in Stewart United Church, Whycocomag­h with Jennifer Billard officiatin­g. All attendees will be asked to provide their names and telephone numbers upon arrival at the church for the funeral service. Seating is limited. Social distancing protocols are to be followed and masks are mandatory. Donations may be made to Inverness Palliative Care or Stewartdal­e Cemetery.
