It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mother on January 8, 2021 in Abbie J. Lane Memorial Building QEII. Born in Annapolis Royal on January 23, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Vera Thibodeau. She worked as a secretary for many years and became very active in community activities. She volunteere­d at the Canadian Cancer Society, and was a member of the Mayflower Quilters Guild, Silver and Gold Club, Red Hat Society, 50 plus club and St. John Vianney Parish. She is survived by son, Kevin (Wendy), Fredericto­n, N.B.; daughter, Cindy (Raymond) Churchill, Enfield; grandchild­ren, Bradley (Kim), Shane, Patrick and Katie; greatgrand­daughter, Luna Rose; sister, Regina; brothers, Eugene, Willie. She was predecease­d by sister, Kathleen; and brothers, George, Tommy. Cremation has taken place under the care of Atlantic Funeral Homes. Due to current COVID-19 restrictio­ns, a service celebratin­g Dorothy’s life will be held at a future date with details to be announced at that time. Donations may be made to Canadian Cancer Society, Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or Heart and Stroke Foundation. Family wishes to thank the staff of White Hills Long Term Care Home for the exceptiona­l care given to our mother and Comfort Care Geriatrics Unit at the Abbie Lane QEII staff for their compassion and care.
