It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Donald “Don” Patrick Caswell, 68, on January 30, 2023, born January 21, 1955, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Helen; children, Patrick Caswell (Gina), Jason Delorey (Kerry), Kevin Delorey (Mélanie), Eric Delorey, Shane “Violet” Caswell (Sarah); grandchildren, Keira, William, Lennon, and Kendrick Delorey; two brothers, Brian Caswell (Yolande) and Ronnie Caswell (Diane); motherin-law, Audrey Watson; and aunt, Shirley Langille; as well as beloved cousins, nephews, nieces, and many dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Donald and Mary Caswell, and father-inlaw, William Watson. Don was a man who loved his family deeply. He was a devoted husband and father and doted upon his grandchildren. Don appreciated the simple things in life; long drives, cooking, baking, gardening, and a good cup of tea. He was a knowledgeable and resourceful person and was often sought out for his advice. He was genuine and felt authentic joy for others in celebrating their successes. He will be remembered for his witty jokes, his warm hugs, his version of “Be Bop a Lula” and his signature dance. We will all cherish fond memories of our time together with Don. The family would like to thank the staff of the fifth floor ICU, the third floor ICU, and the unit 7.4 of the Halifax Infirmary for their care over the last three months and to his special buddies; you know who you are. A private graveside service for family will take place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of choice.
