COMEAU (Levangie), Eleanor Stella Marie

-

It is with heavy hearts that the family will be returning our mother Eleanor’s remains for burial in Halifax, after her passing on December 19, 2023 in Crofton Manor Long Term Care Home in Vancouver, BC, at the grand old age of 91. Eleanor was a wife, mother, grandmother, musician, teacher and principal. While she brought her energy and engagement to the community in all of the places that the family lived in over the years (Moose Jaw, Sask.; St. Jean, Que.; Halifax, NS; and finally in Vancouver, BC), her heart was always in her Nova Scotia home. Always quick to help or host, she will be missed not only by her family but by the many people she has touched over the years. She was a daughter of Mabel (King) and Joseph Levangie of Frankville, Antigonish Co., NS. She was predeceased by her first husband, N. Delbert Comeau; and her second husband, Glen Mosher. Eleanor was also predeceased by her brothers, Garfield, Sanford, Sidney, Adrian and Robert; and sisters, Lorraine, Artena and Daisy. She is survived by her sister, Kay (Don); and her children, Gisele Comeau and Bruce Comeau (Mary); and grandchildren, Delaina, Marissa (Logan), Gabrielle (Erik), Dominique and Daniel (Katrina). There was a family Mass held in St. Mark’s Parish in Vancouver on December 28. In Halifax, there will be a funeral Mass on Friday, April 5, at 12:15 p.m. in St. Benedict’s Parish (45 Radcliffe Dr., Halifax), followed by a private family interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. The family requests no flowers, donations in lieu can be made to Canadian Cancer Society.
