MORRISSEY, Mary Isabel “Molly”

Age 88, formerly of Giant’s Lake and Antigonish, passed away on April 12, 2024, in High-crest Home for Special Care, Sherbrooke. Born in Antigonish, December 28, 1935, Molly was the eldest child of the late John Francis and Josephine (Macisaac) Macneil. After completing high school, Molly entered St. Martha's School of Nursing, graduating in 1958. Upon graduation, Molly's independen­t spirit took her to Lowell, MA to begin her nursing career which spanned 40-plus years. While in Lowell, Molly, met her future husband, Colin, and married in Waltham, MA on October 17, 1963. Molly's nursing career took her and her growing family to Miami, FL, where she nursed in South Miami Hospital. After the death of her husband, Molly returned to Nova Scotia and continued her nursing career at St. Martha's Regional Hospital and Guysboroug­h Memorial Hospital. Molly was a true profession­al, always putting her patients first. Molly loved to cook, entertain, read and garden, but her greatest love was her family. Molly is survived by sons Mark (Tracey) and their children James (Ashley), Liam, Colton, and Gracelynn; Ashley (Ray), Keegan and Audrianna; and Colin (who followed in Grandma's footsteps), Central Texas; and Steven (Donna) and their children Joey and Brandon, Inverness, FL; siblings, Jim, Quispamsis, NB; Anne Restoule, Giant's Lake; and Fiona (Rodney) Maclean, Lower South River. Molly was predecease­d by husband, Colin; brother Joe; sisters-in-law, Rose-marie and Louise; and brothers-in-law, Ted Restoule and Al Archibald. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in C.L. Curry Funeral Home, 135 College Street, Antigonish. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11am on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, in St. Andrews Church, St. Andrews, with Father Dennis Lamey presiding. Burial in St. Francis Desales Cemetery, Giant's Lake, at a later date.
