It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mark William Savory, age 64, of Middle Sackville, on Thursday, April 11, 2024 surrounded by his loved ones. Born in Halifax, Mark was the son of Angus Savory and the late Marie Savory. Mark was a loving husband, father, grandfathe­r, brother and friend. Mark grew up in Fairview, Halifax, and after high school he attended Saint Mary's University and Technical University of Nova Scotia for engineerin­g and went on to become a Profession­al Engineer. Mark worked for Nova Scotia Power and Emera for 33 years. Not quite ready to retire, Mark eventually went on to become a consultant and started his own consulting business. Engineerin­g was in Mark’s blood and he loved his profession. Mark took pleasure in golf and was an avid reader; you could always find him reading one of his favourite authors. Mark’s greatest joy in life was his two young granddaugh­ters, Aria and Noelle. He loved nothing more than spending time with them, having sleepovers and of course spoiling them with gifts and treats. Mark is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Karen (Pritchard) Savory; Sons; Adam (Chantele) Savory, Beaver Bank, Michael (Allison) Savory, Middle Sackville; Father; Angus Savory, Lunenburg; Brother; Keith (Daveda) Savory, Daysprings; Sister; Amy (Bob) Power, Dartmouth, Granddaugh­ters; Aria and Noelle Savory. Mark is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangemen­ts entrusted to J.A Snow Funeral Home, 339 Lacewood Drive, Halifax. Cremation will take place. A celebratio­n of life will take place on Wednesday, April 24th, at J.A.
