MACINTYRE (Delaney), Agnes Elizabeth
We regretfully announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother, Agnes Elizabeth (Delaney) Macintyre on April 15, 2024, in Hospice Cape Breton, with family by her side. Formerly from Sydney, Agnes resided in Northside East Bay until the age of 91 years. Agnes was born in Sydney to the late Josephine and Martin Delaney. She married the love of her life, Martin Macintyre on August 24, 1954. Together they welcomed four children, Duncan (Sylvia Augaitis) Macintyre, Linda (Wanda Pierrynowski) Macintyre, Katheryn Gordon (Warren) and Mary Desaulniers (Jean-paul). Agnes enjoyed spending time with her five grandchildren, Martin (Ashley) Macintyre, Courtney (Jeff) Bowes, Brean (Guillaume) Desaulniers, Jordan (Monica Williamson) Macintyre, and Austin Macintyre. Agnes considered herself fortunate to have four great-grandchildren, Sloane, Gunnar, Finn and Nora. Agnes is survived by her brothers, Joe and Pat (Myrna); sister-in-law, Cecelia and Marie; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Martin in 2012. She is also predeceased by her sisters, Mary (Bill) Tobin, Theresa (Ted) Smith, Margie (Earl) Healy, Jean (Hugh) Macleod; brothers, Martin (Ruth), Ron, Jim, and Gerald (Margaret) and sister-in-law, Betty. Agnes was predeceased by her extended Macintyre family, mother and father-in-law, Mary and Angus Macintyre; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ann (John) Campbell, Donald (Irene), John (Chris), Kay (Cal O’handley), Duncan (Gussie), and Mazie (John Cook). Family flowers only. Visitation for the late Agnes Macintyre will take place on Monday, April 29, from 4-7 p.m. at TW Curry Parkview Chapel, 755 George St, Sydney, NS. The Celebration of Life mass will be held at St. Mary’s Church in East Bay on Tuesday, April 30, at 10 a.m. with Father Anthony O’connor officiating.
