Of Port La Tour, Shelburne Co., passed away on June 24, 2020 in Abbie J. Lane Memorial Building, QEII at the age of 93. Born September 4, 1926 in Little Harbour, Shelburne Co., to Roy and Winnifred (Hemeon) Matheson. Survived by children, Judith Siteman, Julius Malcolm Purdy, Candace Agnew (Greg), John Purdy (Laura), and Christophe­r Purdy (Karen); grandchild­ren, Christine Siteman, Angela Demings (Darren), Lisette Dupuis, Amy Rogers (Ryan), Sara Vautour (Léon), Matthew Purdy, and Ava Purdy; great-grandchild­ren, Kassidy and Baily Demings, Cole Siteman, Maxx Rogers; and brother, Chesley Matheson (Ruby), Bridgewate­r. Predecease­d by parents, Roy and Winnifred Matheson; brother, Gerald Matheson; sister, Vera Wilton; husband, Julius Purdy; and grandson, Christophe­r Purdy Jr.; and granddaugh­ter, Jennafer Purdy; and son-in-law, Howard Siteman. Mom spent her childhood in Upper Port La Tour, Shelburne Co., and lived in Port La Tour for over 70 years. She was amazing at needlework and had a green thumb. Mom always had a positive attitude. Many thanks to the neighbours in Port La Tour who made it possible for mom to stay in her home until November 2018. Also, thanks to Home Care and VON (Barrington and Dartmouth) and to the staff of Abbie J. Lane Memorial who have been so much help to us. A Celebratio­n of Life will take place at a later date.
