William Johnson dies at age 104

Age 104, of Bedford. It is with deep sadness that we his family announce the passing of William "Bill" Johnson, with family by his side on November 20, 2020. Born in Halifax on September 13, 1916, he was a son of the late James and Bertha Johnson. Bill was a Tool and Dye Maker for HMC Dockyard for over 30 years, he also worked as a Munitions Worker during the Second World War. He was a self-taught watch repairer for many years. Bill was a giving, kind, loving, and gentle husband, father, grandfathe­r, great- grandfathe­r. Bill was married to the "love of his life" Dell for 81 years before her passing. His family was his priority, and he always kept the family together by starting a family camping and garden site in New Minas, which included many campfires and overnight stays. Bill is survived by children, William Jr. "Bill" (late Lena), Carol Amirault (Francis "Frank"), Sandra Smith ( Donald "Smitty"); cherished grandchild­ren, Karen Davis (Greg), Sharon Amirault (Dave Duffy), Sandra Penney (Craig), Marina Johnson (Scott Keefe), Natalie Hulshof (Mark), Jody Smith (Kim); great-grandchild­ren, Mallory, Kate, Zavier, Emily, Liam, Rachel; many nieces, nephews and extended family. Predecease­d by his brothers and sisters. The family would like to thank Ivany Place (Fiddlers Cove) for the outstandin­g care given to our Dad.
