-

We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Owen Patrick Williams, 57, of Monastery, on November 19, 2020, in the QEII Hheath Sciences Centre, Halifax. Born May 27, 1963, he was a son of the late Owen and Eileen (Bowman) Williams. Affectionately known as Chopper by most, his nature was one of kindness and generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand. He was hardworking, dedicated and the most welcoming and gracious host and friend. At NSCC, Chopper studied the electrical trade and then headed west to Alberta where several of his siblings had landed. He honed his electrical skills and his mastery in the trade took him to Yellowknife, Bermuda and the Halifax Shipyards. When it was time, he started his own electrical contracting company, Owen Williams Electrical, which he headed successfully for the last 18 years. During this time, many an aspiring electrician had the fortune of his mentorship. Chopper was the ultimate Dad to Rochele, who brought him so much pride and joy. They enjoyed their time together sharing meals, driving the countryside and he was always her biggest fan in whatever she explored, especially cheering her on at volleyball games. Chopper loved all sports and rarely missed a NASCAR race, Calgary Flames, Stampeders or Toronto Blue Jays game. He dearly loved his land and shop and took great pride in projects big and small around the home, a home he opened up to family, friends and even strangers without reservation. He enjoyed in person visits and phone conversations, taking such genuine interest in everyone he cared about. He was incredibly kind to everyone and everything and always had the loyal fur family, Falstaff, Winston, Avery, Angel and later Willow at his sweeping side. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Owen is survived by his wife, Jacqueline (Morell); daughter, Rochele; siblings, Wendy (Chris), Karen (Neil), Denise, Leah , Alton (Cindy), Shelley, Wade (Angela), Derek; several nieces and nephews, including godchildren, Hannah, Allie, Emma and Colin; along with his extended Morell family. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by parents-in-law, Leo and Madeline Morell; grandparents, Jeffery and Olive Williams, Charles and Margaret Bowman. Cremation has taken place.
