CROOK (Clarke) (Acker), Carrie Edna

Age 87, formerly of Kingston, passed away on December 7, 2020 in Grand View Manor, Berwick. Her struggle with vascular dementia is over and she is now at peace. Born in Middleton on October 17, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Brenton and Nellie ( Fisher) Clark. Carrie was a member of Kingston Baptist Church where she taught the Kindergart­en Sunday school class for 40 plus years. She loved each and every child that she taught. She loved collecting dog ornaments and acquired well over 1,000 in her lifetime. She is survived by her son, Richard Acker, Kingston; her daughter, Cheryl (Bryan) Theriau, Canaan; grandsons, Christophe­r (Katie Pistor) Theriau, Orangevill­e, Ont.; Adam (Emily) Acker, Kingston; Gregory (Jennie Hynes) Theriau, Ottawa, Ont.; Andrew (Kirsten Walker) Acker, Sackville; great-grandson, Theodore (Theo) Acker, Kingston; sisters, Marilyn Nauss, Berwick; and Patricia Samuel, Halifax; brother, George (Shirley) Clark, Edmonton, Alta.; sistersin-law, Eileen Clark, Stellarton; and Kathleen Barteaux, Torbrook; and numerous nieces and nephews, who she loved dearly. Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by her first husband, Calvin Acker, and second husband, Allan Crook; brothers, Frederick Clark and Howard Clark. The family would like to thank the staff of Grand View Manor, in particular the Winslow Unit, for the wonderful care given to our mom for the last three years. You provided a safe, secure, loving home when we no longer could provide that. Words can never express our gratitude to all of you. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 11th, in North Kingston Cemetery with Rev. Leon Langille officiatin­g.
