A Dartmouth man accused of peeping in the windows of women’s homes will remain in jail through the holidays.

Kyle Gordon Wright, 27, was arrested Dec. 10 after a woman who lives on Inverary Drive in Dartmouth reported that a man had been standing outside a window at the back of her house the night before and looking into a bedroom.

Wright, who already faced 25 counts of voyeurism and one of trespassing at night, was arraigned in Dartmouth provincial court Dec. 11 on single counts of voyeurism and trespassing at night and three counts of breaching release conditions.

The Crown opposed Wright’s release and revoked his bail on the earlier charges.

Wright was supposed to have a bail hearing Wednesday, but duty defence lawyer Alex Baranowski asked that it be postponed until Jan. 6 to allow for further work on a proposed release plan.

Wright was first arrested last March on three counts of voyeurism and one of trespassing at night. Those offences involved three different women and were allegedly committed between April 2019 and March 9 of this year.

After conducting further investigation, including forensic analysis of electronic devices, police laid 22 more charges of voyeurism in September, for incidents going back to April 2016. Wright was accused of peeping on four women altogether.

Wright’s release conditions required him to observe an 8 p.m.-6 a.m. curfew at his residence on Inverary Drive, have no contact with the four complainants and stay away from their homes.

The newest charges also involve one of those women.
