DILIBERATORE (Dolente), Egea

-

Age 91 years of Dartmouth. It is with profound sadness the family of Egea Diliberatore (Dolente) shares with all who knew and loved her that our mother has completed her journey among us and has rejoined her devoted husband Innocenzo in God’s kingdom. Mom was born to Orazio and Maria Dolente in Morro D’oro in her beloved Italy on January 13, 1929. She was predeceased by her older siblings, sisters Teresa and Lina and brother Gaetano. She enjoyed her childhood on the family farm. The stories of her father’s prominence, the olive trees she scaled to harvest and the many teachings of her mother in the kitchen were as vibrant last week as they were in her early days. In 1953 she married our father in Italy and in 1956 joined him in Canada arriving through Pier 21. The family home was in Armdale, where she cultivated beautiful flowers, a vibrant vegetable garden and created a loving home. Mom was a loving, devoted mother to her children, Miria (Gerry Chisholm), Franco (Cindy Connors), Christopher (Shirley Blanchard). We were raised with her spectacular cooking, her love of family and her dedicated faith in God. She cherished her grandchildren ( Justin, Nikki (Chris), Drew and Aaron), and her greatgrandchildren (Ellie, Isla, and Emma), taking great pleasure in their company. Watching her family grow, having time with her husband before his passing, berry picking, gardening, cooking and enjoying many more great meals with her extended family brought her much joy. She lived her golden years in Dartmouth where she made many great friends. The family is very grateful for the Banook Shore community for their friendship, company and support for our mother. The family also extends our thanks to the doctors and nurses in ICU and 3 West of Dartmouth General Hospital for their compassionate care. Under the current COVID-19 environment, there will be a funeral service (with limited seating) held on Monday, December 21st at 10 a.m. from Atlantic Funeral Home, Dartmouth Chapel. Please RSVP your attendance through the Eventbrite link on Egea’s memorial page. Those who would like to watch the funeral service virtually may do so by logging on to Egea’s memorial page Monday, December 21st at 10 a.m. A public celebration of Egea’s life will be planned for a later date.
