DOYLE, Michael Ray

-

Age 73, Halifax. It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael Doyle on December 15, 2020. Mike was born in Glace Bay on March 27, 1947. Mike passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. Mike is survived by his four children who were blessed to call him Dad and to truly know and feel a father’s love: Shawna (Darren) Mcintyre, Fall River; Christa (Demetri) Kostadopoulos, London, Ont.; Mickey (Dana) Doyle, Kitchener, Ont.; Amy ( Ryan) Doyle, Middle Sackville. He is also survived by his grandsons, Eric, Zach, Simon, Xander, and Cody, who lovingly knew him as Papa. He was predeceased by his parents, Elsie Bond and Leo Doyle; brother, Patrick Doyle; and sisters, Leona Morrison and Yvonne Doyle. Left to mourn are his sisters, Midge Roberts, Cole Harbour; Doreen Woodland, Donna (Roy) Maclellan, Glace Bay; and his brother, Wayne Doyle, Haverhill, Mass.; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Stephanie Doyle. Mike was a kind and gentle man which was evident from the moment you met him. If anybody ever needed a hand, a friend, an ear to listen, he would be there. He loved to laugh and have a good time. He leaves us with many funny and wonderful stories to share as we continue to remember him through the remainder of our lives. Mike had various jobs over his life from retail management, property management, and owning and operating Brookside Paint & Paper. Regardless of what job he was doing he took pride in a job well done. He never missed an opportunity to travel and enjoy new experiences. We would like to thank VON who assisted us in our father’s journey from Earth to Heaven. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life, memorial mass, and burial will be held at a later date when all who knew and loved him can come together to remember him.
