It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Kenneth Joseph Purcell, age 90, on Friday, December 18, 2020 in the Halifax

Infirmary, QEII, with his family by his side. He was the son of Kenneth and Ethel (Machan) Purcell. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty (Boyce); his sons, Kenneth ( Wendy) of Whites Lake; Charles (Kim) of Bedford; and Thomas (Kim) of Winnipeg; his grandsons, Kenneth W., Boyce, Adam (Alysha), Colin, Eric (Rebecca) and Bradley; his step grandchild­ren, Matthew and Laura Gardner; his sister-inlaw, Connie Verran; and many nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his parents; his brother and sister-in-law, Donald (Mary) Purcell and his brotherin-law Harry Verran. His family always came first. A lifelong resident of the North End, Kenneth enjoyed a life of travelling, hunting, fishing, and a good game of cards. He was an avid bowler and always had a story to tell. Kenneth was an early member of Saint Margaret of Scotland Church. He worked as an accountant for Furness Withy ( Ships and Services) and the Office of the Public Trustee. Kenneth will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Due to COVID-19, there will be a celebratio­n of life at a later date (to be announced).
