MURPHY, Barbara Louise
Age 71 of Bedford, passed away peacefully at home on December 18, 2020. Born in New Glasgow on October 16, 1949, she was a daughter of the late Everett and Evelyn Fancey. She is survived and will be missed dearly by sons, Mark ( Jill) of Halifax; and Jason (Sandie) of Edmonton; she will also be missed by partner of 20 years, Stuart Wornell; sister, Brenda Boudreau ( Stephen) of New Glasgow; brother-in-law, Grant Smith of St. Margaret’s Bay. Barbara was predeceased by sister, Patricia Smith. Barbara’s pride and joy was grandson Colton, born to Jason and Sandie. Colton delighted her with his phone calls and stories. Barbara is also survived by many loved nieces and nephews. Barbara was a graduate of New Glasgow High School and enjoyed being Drum Major for the Ceilidh Girls Pipe Band. She later received her diploma from NSCC and went on to work as a laboratory technician. After raising her children, she re- entered the workforce and discovered a newfound passion for retail. In retirement she enjoyed annual trips south to warmer climates with Stuart. In keeping with Barbara wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements and cremation have been entrusted to T.J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialists, 71 Mcquade Lake Cres., Halifax.
