Age 92 of Freeport, Digby Co., passed away December 26, 2020 in Yarmouth Regional Hospital. Born in Tiverton, she was a daughter of the late Nelson ( Wilma) Prime. She loved cooking, sewing, crocheting and knitting. She also enjoyed line dancing and was an avid reader. She owned and operated the K&J Canteen in Tiverton for many years, which she built with her husband Kingsley. She was a member of the Rebecca Lodge and Church of Christ in Tiverton. She also belonged to the Super Seniors clubs in Freeport and Tiverton and enjoyed playing cards especially cribbage and 45’s. She is survived by children, Laraine (Harold) Graham of Westport; Dale (Deloris) Elliott of Digby; and Virginia (George) Crawley of Middle Sackville; grandchild­ren, Lisa, Karla, Shauna, Jeremy, Stephanie, Natasha; and 12 great-grandchild­ren. She was predecease­d by her first husband, Andrew Elliott; second husban, Kingsley Leeman; grandchild­ren, Andrew, Jesse, and Cole; her brothers Arnold and Ivan. The family would like to thank Diane Young, Cheri Young and Kathy Elliott for caring for Jean in her final years. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, December 31st in Church of Christ in Tiverton with Pastor Lou Outhouse officiatin­g. Private family interment will be held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jean’s memory may be sent to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a charity of one’s choice.
