MAXWELL, Blaine Forrest

Passed away peacefully after a brave and courageous battle with cancer on December 24, 2020 in Victoria, B.C., at age 61. Blaine was born on June 29, 1959 in Halifax. He was predecease­d by his parents, Wilfred and Joyce; and his brother-inlaw, Carter Newson. He was a loving husband, father and grandfathe­r and will be dearly missed by his wife of 37 years, Beverly; daughter, Sarah (Jeremy Stow) and son, Bradley (Sarah), Campbell River; his granddaugh­ter, Georgia Stow and grandson, Clayton; brother, Darrell (Annie) and sister, Heather (Hal) West; mother and fatherin-law, Steven and Debra Newson; nieces and nephews, Chad (Samantha) West, Ryan (Melissa) West, Jason (Elise), Lindsey (Lukas), Madaline and William Newson; sister- in- law, Anita Newson and brother-in-law, Daniel (Rebecca) Newson. He will be dearly missed by many of his close friends from coast to coast. Blaine spent his childhood in Upper Sackville. He attended Maxwell School in his early years before graduating from Sackville High. Blaine married Beverly in 1983 in Bedford. It was at this time that he started his career in IT Service Management. Blaine, with Bev by his side, started the first of his adventures by heading off to Yellowknif­e, N.W.T. Shortly after the birth of their first child, they returned to the Maritimes where they raised their family. Blaine’s entreprene­urial spirit led him to open a nature store in Moncton, N.B. During this time, he completed his MBA from Université de Moncton. His adventurou­s spirit led Blaine to Victoria in 2015; closer to his children and grandchild­ren where he was able to enjoy the outdoors year-round. A Funeral Service for invited guests to attend in person will be held in the Sequoia Centre at Mccall Gardens, 4665 Falaise Dr., on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 11 a.m. All others are invited to join us virtually by clicking the link found on Blaine’s obituary page at the Mccall’s website. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Cancer Agency, Victoria, B.C., or a memorial gift can be made to a nature trust or conservanc­y of the contributo­rs’ choice.
