Passed away peacefully on December 28, 2020 following a short illness. Born in Bridgetown, Annapolis Co., she was a daughter of the Honorable John and Nellie Shaffner and the wife of William M. Sue is survived by her children, John ( Karen), Fall River; Stephen (Heather Canning), Stittsville, Ont.; Paul (Natalie Lent), Wolfville; Megan (Kevin Marcipont), Eastern Passage; and sister, Lynne (Geoff) Leppinus, Sydney, Australia; grandchildren, Christopher ( Jenna) Martell, Jenny Lewis (Aaron Hoyles), Ian Lewis (Lexi Boudreau), Catherine and Samantha Lewis, Jana Lewis and William Boudreau; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Charlie and Henrymartell; sister-in-law, Mora Morris; several nieces, nephews and extended family. Mom will always be remembered for her love of family and friends. Her kindness and joy were always on display with her "glass half full" outlook on everything. Mom had a great sense of fashion and was especially adept at cobbling together an outfit for any occasion. Her home was the place of many gatherings and she was the ultimate host. Sue was a contributing member of the Valley Regional Hospital Auxiliary for many years. She very much enjoyed playing bridge and developed many cherished friendships over the bridge table. Mom was blessed to have many lifelong friendships, including the Friday lunch ladies. We will miss her dearly and Mom really was "Sweet Sue". A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The interment will take place in St. John’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Church Street, Port Williams. Donations in memory may be made to the charity of your choice. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Kentville. Online condolences and inquiries may be directed to: www.whitefamilyfuneralhome.com
