Age 95 of Terence Bay, passed away December 30, 2020 in the Abbie J. Lane Memorial Building, QEII. Born in Terence Bay, he was a son of the late Corbett and Peerless Slaunwhite. Marshall was a kind and wonderful person who was loved and respected by everyone he met. He always greeted everyone with a hellomy friend and to the females, you are my sweetheart. He was employed with the National Harbour Board in Halifax for 30 years, retiring at the age of 60. In his younger years, he spent many weekends at the cottage in Kennetcook, hunting, playing cards and enjoying a few drinks with his family and friends. He also enjoyed going to dances and tap-dancing at John Becks Boat Club in Terence Bay. Also over the last 15 years he spent his mornings having a cup of coffee sitting at "his table" in Tim Hortons, Clayton Park with his retirement buddies, laughing, joking and solving the day’s problems. Marshall is survived by his children, Terry ( Judy), Brian (Jan), Shelly (Jim); grandchild­ren, Brian Jr., Julie, Jennifer, Christine, Michael, Theresa, Andrew, Brandon; great-grandchild­ren, Makenzie, Linden, Aubrey; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his wife, Myrtle; son, Randy; granddaugh­ter, Amy; brothers, Rutis, Melvin and Rollie. Cremation has taken place under the care of Atlantic Funeral Home, 6552 Bayers Rd., Halifax. A Graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2021 in St. Paul’s Anglican Church Cemetery, Terence Bay. Donations in memory may bemade to Heart and Stroke Foundation.
