-

Age 70 of Dartmouth, born in Sheet Harbour. It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Bill on December 28, 2020, after a brief illness with cancer. A son of the late Guy Lionel (Darby) and Emma (Frost) Parks, Bill was a welder and retired from RKO Steel where he worked for 28 years; he also worked for the Halifax Ship Yard and the Halifax Metal Workers. He was a 43- year member of Corselette Branch 58 Legion of Sheet Harbour. He loved to garden, his vegetables and his flowers were his pride and joy; as well as his beloved Homestead in Lochaber Mines, where he and Jenny worked tirelessly keeping it looking beautiful. Survived by his partner in life of over 30 years, Jenny Hardy; his sons, Benjamin (Dawn) and Jeremy; stepsons, Rick (Lisa), Geoff (Tanya); grandchildren, Micah and Cameron; step grandchildren, Shawn, Kailey, Kylie, Chelsea and Makayla; greatgrandchildren, Kohen, Kaysen, Ni’all and Benjamin; brothers, Steven (Sherry), Gary, Andrew; sister, Caroline; and many nephews, nieces, great-nephews and nieces. Predeceased by his brother- in-law, Wilfred Bond. The one thing Bill missed the most was not being able to meet with his coffee buddies where he had a lot of great laughs, especially at the expense for his love of Oak Island Mystery which he watched religiously. A special thanks to the staff of the 3rd floor and the ER staff at Dartmouth General Hospital. Cremation has already taken place and there will be a private service in St. James Church Cemetery. Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to St. James Church in Lochaber Mines. Online condolences may be directed to: www.crowellsfuneralhome.ca
