COLLICOTT, Wayne Arthur
Age 77 of Halifax, passed away on January 5, 2021 in Arbourstone Enhanced Care, 1430 Purcells Cove Rd., Halifax. Born in Halifax, he was a son of Arthur and Ellen (Drysdale) Collicott of Halifax. Wayne was a retired RCMP officer with 31 years of service, serving in Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island. Wayne was an avid swimmer, football, baseball and hockey player. He made a name for himself playing hockey in Newfoundland with the Stephenville Monarchs and after one memorable moment on the ice became known as "The Strangler". After retiring from the Force, Wayne became a Security Consultant at Province House in Charlottetown, P.E.I., where he was able to continue with his love of everything security. Throughout his life, Wayne made long lasting friends that were more like family than friends and those friendships have stood the test of time. All family and friends knew of his love of alien TV shows, especially the X-files, Project Blue Book and conspiracy theories, as well as his hatred for onions and garlic. Wayne was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a trusted brother, uncle and friend. The loss of Wayne has created a deep void for his family and friends. Wayne is survived by daughter, Kimberley (Grant); son, David (Krista); sister, Lynn (Gordon); brothers, Christopher (Kathy) and Robert (Elaine); his grandchildren, Gavin and Alexis Collicott; and several nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by wife, Mildred; parents, Arthur and Ellen; sister, Marjorie (Pat); and niece, Mary Ellen. A celebration of life service and interment will be held at a later date due to the present COVID-19 travel restrictions. Online condolences may be made at: www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com
