Age 84 of Debert Court, Debert, passed away January 7, 2021 in Debert Court. Born in Noel on June 22, 1936, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Leola May (Mcculloch) Scott. Iona is survived by children, Charlotte (Doug), Harley ( Brenda), Muriel, George (Sherry), Robert (Teresa), Addison ( Frank), Curtis ( Sharon); brother, Murray Relman (Nettie); sisters, Mae (Vernon) Hill, Dora ( John) Hobin, Darlene (Orlee) White, Donna White, Deborah Scott; 10 grandchild­ren, four great-grandchild­ren. Besides her parents, Iona was predecease­d by husband, Wallace; brothers, Curtis, Vernon, Blair, Delbert, Ronald, Roger, Rayburn. Iona was a member of Noel United Church and Women’s Institute. She had also been an avid horse racing fan, and small dogs were always friends of choice. In her later years she often talked of her time spent as a playground monitor at the school in Noel. She was a well-known resident of Debert Court and the family would like to thank the staff there for the kindness, care and attention she received from them. A private family service will be held in J. Wilson Allen Funeral Home, Kennetcook, Rev. Natalie Buchannan-rutherford officiatin­g. Interment will take place at a later date. Due to COVID-19 social distancing will apply outside of your bubble, masks will be mandatory to be worn inside the premises.
